Get playful in Manchester with Larkin' About

Published on 5th Feb 2010
An unusual event at the Green Room may appeal to people seeking things to do in Manchester later this month.

Taking place on Saturday February 27th, the latest instalment of Larkin' About represents an opportunity for people to socialise by participating in organised games on a large scale.

According to the organisers, this free event is based on social gaming festivals such as Hide and Seek in London and New York's Come Out and Play.

Larkin' About gets underway from 6pm and people going out in Manchester are advised to take some all-weather clothes, as some of the games are played outside.

According to the Guardian, the event is an example of a "recent theatrical phenomenon" known as "pervasive gaming".

London's Hide and Seek runs a regular pervasive gaming event known as The Sandpit, which organises games in railway tunnels, parks and other public spaces.
